Welcome to
The Birth Club

Where women learn, grow, and care for each other.
Supportive, feminist spaces for birth preparation, coaching, and community — in person, online, and from the heart of our sorority.
Welcome

Welcome to The Birth Club — a women-only space offering antenatal education, doula support, and professional interpreting in English, Spanish, and Italian.
Whether you're preparing for birth, navigating a healthcare system in another language, or seeking support grounded in respect and calm, you're in the right place.
I’m Mara, a feminist birth worker, interpreter, and advocate. My mission is to help women feel informed, empowered, and heard — in their bodies, their births, and their languages.
I also work on campaigns that amplify women's voices in motherhood and healthcare. You can explore this work here →

What I Offer

Professional Training
I offer feminist, trauma-aware training for professionals who support women through birth, healthcare, and caregiving. My workshops blend lived experience, political awareness, and practical tools to help you hold space with confidence, ethics, and care.

Antenatal Education
Confident, trauma informed birth preparation for women. Group and 1:1 classes available online or in Glasgow/Edinburgh. Rooted in evidence, feminism, and emotional awareness.

Birth Coaching Support (Doula*)
Continuous, woman-centred care before, during, and after birth. In-person in Glasgow & Edinburgh or virtually worldwide.

Interpreting
I am a qualified healthcare interpreter (DPSI). Clear, compassionate support in English, Spanish, and Italian. Available for NHS, private clients, and birth support.

My Approach
Feminist. Trauma-informed. Multilingual.
I centre your voice, your choices, and your lived experience. Whether I’m interpreting, teaching, or supporting your birth, I aim to create a calm and connected space where women can feel safe, seen, and respected.
I believe the personal is political — and at the centre of all my work is always my commitment to justice for women. Learn more about my feminist activism and current projects here →
